Executive Summary "The Way We Work" initiative meant Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) had to re-evaluate both the architecture and the technology supporting their Wide Area Network (WAN).

They took that opportunity to introduce new and very smart technology that combines service advantages with remarkable reductions in costs. Sites are connected quickly and easily to a reliable high availability core network with vastly increased bandwidth.

Individual departments enjoy guaranteed bandwidth and Service Level Agreements. Business continuity planning is easier and more effective and user locations are no longer tied to where the application servers are situated. This improved service delivery is accompanied with a major reduction in both capital and operating expenditure.
